This Global Cookie Policy explains how Infodev Electronic Designers International inc. ("Infodev EDI") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on its website at https://www.infodev.ca. It applies to all visitors regardless of country of residence and should be read together with our Global Privacy Policy.

This Part applies to all Canadian residents, in addition to Parts 1 and 2.

6. Applicable Legislation — Canada

PIPEDA (SC 2000, c 5) requires meaningful, informed, and withdrawable consent before collecting personal information via cookies. Implied consent may be acceptable for analytics; express consent is required for marketing cookies.

7. Your Rights — Canada

  • Right of access: Request access to personal information collected via cookies.
  • Right to withdrawal: Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies via our consent tool.
  • Right to complain: File a complaint with the OPC at www.priv.gc.ca.

LAW 25 — QUÉBEC RESIDENTS ONLY
Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information
This section applies exclusively to residents of Québec. Law 25 supplements the general Canadian PIPEDA requirements with stronger obligations.
This Part applies exclusively to residents of Québec, in addition to Parts 1, 2, and 3.

8. Strengthened Consent Requirements — Law 25

For Québec residents, cookie consent must be: express (not implied); granular (per category); free (refusal as easy as acceptance — no dark patterns); and withdrawable at any time with immediate effect.

9. Additional Rights (Québec Only)

  • Right to de-indexation: Request removal of personal information from online indexes where collection was not legally authorised.
  • Right to portability: Request data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to complain to the CAI: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Part 5

United States — State Privacy Laws

This Part applies to residents of the United States, in addition to Parts 1 and 2.

10. Consent Model — USA

U.S. state laws (CCPA/CPRA) operate on an opt-out model: cookies may be placed without prior consent, but users must be able to opt out clearly. Infodev EDI does not sell personal information collected via cookies. We provide a full opt-out via our consent tool.


Part 6

European Union & EEA — GDPR + ePrivacy

This Part applies to residents of the EU and EEA, in addition to Parts 1 and 2.

11. Consent Requirements — Europe

The ePrivacy Directive requires prior, informed consent for any non-essential cookie. Our consent mechanism ensures: prior consent, free choice, category-specific granularity, clear information, and easy withdrawal.

12. Legal Basis — Europe

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Statistics, preferences, and marketing cookies.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Security-related functional cookies (Wordfence).

13. Google Analytics and EU Data Transfers

Google Analytics transfers data to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). We have configured GA to anonymise IP addresses and respect user consent signals.

This Part applies to all users not covered by Parts 3–6, in addition to Parts 1 and 2.

14. General Commitment

Infodev EDI applies the GDPR standard as a baseline for all visitors, seeking consent before placing non-essential cookies regardless of location.
